Why I'm Passionate About Walk and Talk Coaching

Being neurodivergent, I have always found it difficult to focus without some type of physical activity or stimulation. During video coaching sessions I found myself continuing to struggle with this and relied heavily on a fidget toy. One day during a new client consultation, a client asked if we could do our sessions on the phone while he walked his dog. He explained that as an attorney during Covid he was on Zoom calls all day and needed a break. I agreed and instantly fell in love. I quickly talked to my other clients about starting walk and talk sessions and had many people interested. I immediately felt a huge difference in my ability to focus and connect with my clients and noticed how much more relaxed and flowing our conversations were. My clients have told me they could never go back to traditional sit down sessions after experiencing walk and talks – and I couldn’t agree more! Being out in nature while moving our bodies helps us focus and stay present, process stress and trauma, provides an endorphin release and other physical benefits, and is an effective way to reduce anxiety and depression.

Diversity and Inclusion

Ashley coaches from an intersectional-feminist and anti-oppressive framework. She strives to recognize, validate, and respect all people’s intersectional identities. Her coaching approach fosters an environment where a client’s entire identity is seen, validated, and discussed within the context of their experiences and relationships. Ashley recognizes that race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, and other parts of one’s identity play a large role in their experiences and perspectives. It is important to her that every client receives the best care possible that fits their unique needs, feelings, and experiences.

There is a large gap in access of coaching services for minority and underrepresented groups of people. Please know that this is a safe space for you to discuss or name the barriers that you face in receiving coaching. After a free consultation and confirmation that we are a good coach-client fit, Ashley is committed to making her services accessible and inclusive for everyone.
